El Portalito is a traditional bar in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

The bar opened in the 1940s and is located in the Pasaje Rubio, on the sixth avenue just near to the Main Plaza. The bar is noted for its wood furnishings and traditional marimba music during the evenings. The specialities of the bar are pigeons in sherry, and light, dark, or mixed beers.

Fiambre

Fiambre is a traditional Guatemalan dish that is prepared and eaten yearly to celebrate the Day of the Dead (Día de los Difuntos) and the All Saints Day (Día de los Santos). It is a salad, served chilled, and may be made up from over 50 ingredients. Vinegar is added as preservant, developing very particular taste.

Los Aposentos is a small forested park area with a number of springs and two small lakes. It is located a few kilometers south of the city of Chimaltenango in Guatemala. It was formerly known as “Finca la Alameda” and renamed to Los Aposentos in 1928. An area of 0.15 km², including the lakes was declared a national park in 1955.

Coban

Founded on August 4, 1543, Coban is the capital of Alta Verapaz district. Situated on 1,320 m (4,330 ft), and with around 100 thousand inhabitants, it is a very pleasant place, with nature resembling a bit to some parts of Europe. That is the secret of strong German presence in this area, since immigrants found Coban to be alike to the landscapes they were used to.
